SDHS Band Takes The Lead

South-Doyle High School competed Saturday Oct. 4th at The English Mountain Classic in Cocke County. The band placed 1st place in class 3A, which placed them 4th out of a total of 10 bands. Also the color guard and Majorettes finished in 1st place. The band’s percussion section was placed in the highest rating of “Superior.”

“I was really happy for the band because I heard Greenville, our opponents, and they did pretty good and we did that good,” said senior drum captain Drew White.

The marching band will be competing on October 18th at the Admiral Cup Invitational at Farragut High School. Senior band captain Alexxis Jester said that the band would be hard working to change the drill to make it cleaner and to work on the music.
