Car accident involving black bear

On Sunday night, a woman struck a black bear while driving a along a back road in the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation in Southern Florida. Although the woman was unscathed, three others in a trailing car got out to make sure the situation was under control. At this time, a third car hit and killed all three. It was reported that at least two of the tree cars involved were traveling in opposite directions. This is the first accident ever reported involving a black bear in this area.

Four people were airlifted to the Broward Health Medical Center with critical injuries while the rest were taken by ambulance. The women in the initial accident received no injuries. Only two of the thirteen people involved walked away completely uninjured.

The accident is still being investigated and the victim’s identities have not yet been released.
