LA Freeway Fire

On the morning of Monday December 8, 2014, an entire apartment building in Downtown LA was engulfed in flames. The fire spanned an entire city block, and the flames were more than 40 feet high.

With over 250 fire fighters on the scene, the majority of the blaze was put out within 90 minutes. However, responders continued to extinguish hot spots throughout the morning.

Witnesses could reportedly see the flames from miles away. The fire shut down freeways along with other roads, busted windows of nearby buildings and melted road signs.

The cause of the massive blaze is currently being investigated. Officials believe there may have been foul play due to the fact that the fire was less than 100 yards away from the downtown fire station, and the rarity of the situation in which an entire building goes up in flames all at once.
