87th Oscar Nominations

In many households across the nation – and sometimes even international using the Internet and live streaming – the Oscars are celebrated. It is a long tradition and will not stop with its 87th year of nominations. A few titles like American Sniper were actually aired in select theaters in 2014 to be eligible for the 2015 Oscars. The list is long as usual presenting colossal names such as Bradley Cooper, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell and Julianne Moore. Neil Patrick Harris will host the event on February 22nd, 2015.

Nominations for Best Picture:

-American Sniper directed by Clint Eastwood starring Bradley Cooper and Peter Morgan.

-Birdman or(The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu starring John Lesher and James W. Skotchdopole.

-Boyhood directed by Richard Linklater starring Cathleen Sutherland.

-The Grand Budapest Hotel directed by Wes Anderson starring Scott Rudin, Steven Bales and Jeremy Dawson.

-The Imitation Game directed by Morten Tyldum starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley.

-Selma directed by Ava DuVernay starring David Oyelowo and Carmen Ejogo.

-The Theory of Everything directed by James Marsh starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones.

-Whiplash directed by Damien Chazelle starring Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons.
