Zac Morgan Wins All-State

Senior band member Zac Morgan recently won the All-State Award for the flute.

Zac has been playing the flute since the sixth grade. “I’d always been involved in music,” he said. “I had taken piano since I was in first grade, so I joined band and wrote down ‘flute.’” He started auditioning for All-State in his sophomore year, and in his junior year, Zac was two spots away from winning. “This really means a whole lot,” he stated.

After high school, Zac will be attending the University of Tennessee, where he will double-major in Flute Performance and Musical Theater. To anyone who wants to pursue band or anything musical, Zac says, “It’s hard, and you’ve got to practice and be dedicated, but it’s definitely worth it once you get where you want to be.”
